Youth Ministry (H.Y.P.U.)

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Goal: To promote the Christian development of young people by providing opportunities for appropriate religious expression and to meet more adequately the needs of young people of The Church of God Sanctified, Inc.

Focus: Pray for God’s guidance as we provide leadership in developing strategies for Christian growth in the youth and develop young believers to have strong Christian character.

Mission Statement: The H.Y.P.U. is committed to teaching the doctrine of The Church of God Sanctified, Inc. and to prepare young people for leadership in the church. We endeavor to bring souls to Christ and make Christianity a vital part of living.

Objectives:

  • Establish ongoing communication with district H.Y.P.U. leaders.
  • Develop and publish a quarterly calendar of youth programs and events. Coordinate with district presidents to set the calendar.
  • Plan and implement at least one national youth summit annually.
  • Facilitate plans to implement regularly scheduled Bible teaching sessions with the youth on the local, district and national levels.
  • On the district level, provide workshop or group sessions on social issues that impact youth in today’s world.
  • Develop the social aspect of the youth’s character by providing fellowship times for them to come together and learn how to appropriately interact and work together cooperatively.
  • Plan a minimum of one service project each year in the local church community to teach young people how to give back.

“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” I Timothy 5:12
