Usher Board

Goal: To serve as “doorkeeper” and glorify God through extending the love of Christ to members and visitors who enter the church for worship

Focus: Pray for God’s guidance as we serve the people in God’s house and provide a nurturing environment to all the congregation (believers and strangers) throughout worship service.

Mission Statement: The Usher Board Ministry is committed to maintaining an atmosphere of reverence and order before, during and after worship service as we reflect Christian dedication and love.

Objectives:

* Review existing manual and update as needed. Ensure that every usher has a current copy of the Usher’s Manual.

* Organize a Hospitality Committee for the National Convocation.

* Conduct regular training sessions on a local, district and national level.

* Ensure that ushers are on post at all events taking place during the National Convocation.

* District presidents ensure that ushers are on post at all events and services of the district.

* Plan emergency training for ushers, such as CPR and first aid.

* Engage young people by training junior ushers to serve on the local, district and national level.

“For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand, I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.” Psalm 84:10

“Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;… Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.” Romans 12:10, 13
